Velvet captivates audience in Spain

Munich, 19 Feb 2014. Beta Film's marvellous glittering new series Velvet has made its debut in Spain with a bang. The pilot won the primetime on private broadcaster Antena 3 with 4.8 million viewers and an extraordinary 24.6 % market share against its strong competitor, the premiere of Telecinco's B&B (14 %). The series replaces, on Monday nights, "El Corazon del coeano", whichdelivered 2,643,000 viewers (13.2%) last week. This means the show starring Miguel Angel Silvestre and Paula Echevarria outperformed it by 11.4 rating points. Thanks to Velvet, Antena 3 led the networks during prime time (%) as well as late night (%). Velvet (13x70'/16xone hour, from the producers of Grand Hotel), set in the glorious sixties in a famous Madrid fashion gallery, is one of the highlights of Beta Film's portfolio at this year's MipTV in April in Cannes.
