Beta Film’s “Shades of Guilt” jumps to the top in Germany

Munich, 9 March 2015. With an extraordinary jump of 1.5 million viewers within one week, Shades of Guilt has catapulted itself to Friday night’s top position on German pubcaster ZDF. After its very successful start three weeks ago with 4.2 million viewers and 600.000 accesses in the ZDF media library, the 6xone hour series gained an outstanding 16 % market share (5 mio viewers) at its third installment and won the second prime time slot at 9 pm.

Shades of Guilt, which was one of Beta Film’s highlights at last fall’s MipCom, represents a new generation of crime series. Made by renowned Constantin Film/MOOVIE-producer Oliver Berben (“Hotel Adlon – A Family Saga”) and based on true cases of defense attorney and bestseller author Ferdinand von Schirach, the outstanding legal thriller features Moritz Bleibtreu (“Run Lola Run”, “The Experiment”) as Schirach’s alter ego Friedrich Kronberg. Supported by extraordinary camera photography, the series circles around the different levels of individual guilt for a crime either committed in a single moment of thoughtlessness or in months of planning. Shades of Guilt is an Oliver Berben production of MOOVIE – the art of entertainment (part of the Constantin Group) for ZDF in association with Beta.
