Munich, 17 March 2015. New rating record for the Murder by the Lake-cycle: The second installment Murder by the Lake: Family Issues has surpassed its already highly successful predecessor with a prime time winning 7.53 million viewers and 22.5 percent market share on Germany’s ZDF. The Rowboat Film-production left RTL’s “Millionaire” far behind and doubled the channels average ratings in the younger audience group (14-49 years) with an excellent 11.6 percent. Last November, Murder by the Lake: The Celtic Mystery achieved as prime time winner 6.6 million viewers with a 20 percent market share on ZDF.

Murder of the Lake follows cross-border crimes at the shores of the marvelous Lake Constance, forcing German and Austrian police to join forces despite apparently very different mentalities. Directed by Andreas Linke and starring Nora von Waldstaetten (“Famous Five III”) and Matthias Koeberlin (“Jesus Video”), Murder by the Lake: Family Issues was produced by Rowboat Film- and TV- production GmbH and Graf Filmproduction GmbH in co-production with ZDF and ORF.
