Scandi broadcasters secure more than 40 hours fiction from Beta Film

Munich, 29 March 2016. After the Nordic-wide success of drama-series like ‘Generation War’ and ‘Line of Separation’, Scandinavian broadcasters have secured more than 40 hours of new German drama from Beta Film. With this deal DR, NRK, SVT and YLE are spearheading developments  just before a new wave of high end fiction from Beta Film is about to hit this year´s MipTV-market in Cannes. Among the handpicked titles are unique shows like the right wing terror-trilogy NSU German History X (3x90’) and Tom Tykwer's Roaring Twenties crime-series Babylon Berlin (16 x one hour - in production). All four channels also acquired Oliver Hirschbiegel’sspy drama The Same Sky (6xone hour - in postproduction) set in the divided city of Berlin and the 15th century period drama Maximilian and Marie de Bourgogne (6x one hour - in postproduction) about the impoverished Austrian Emperor conquering the heart of Europe’s most wanted bride directed by Andreas Prochaska .
