‘The Embassy’ roars to the top of Spain’s prime-time

Munich, 26 April 2016. The shows of the Spanish production duo Bambú/Atresmedia are high-performers: The Embassy roared to the top of the Spanish primetime with 22.5 % market share at its debut on Monday night on Antena 3. More than four million viewers watched the life of wealth, glamour and corruption inside the Spanish embassy in Thailand, leaving all competitors far behind. The tremendous ratings made The Embassy the most watched show on Antena 3 this TV season.

Three weeks ago Beta celebrated the world premiere of The Embassy (10x70’) during MipTV with great success. The series follows in the footsteps of the success of sales hits like Grand Hotel (39x70’) and Velvet (42x70’), all ongoing audience-hits on Spain's prime-time and produced by Bambú and Atresmedia.

Velvet, whose forth season is currently produced, is nominated for the renowned Rockie Award as Best Melodrama at Banff World Media Festival, competing against international hits such as Code Black and Grey’s Anatomy. The series has been sold by Beta in over 80 countries worldwide and runs currently as a remake with tremendous ratings on Italy’s RAI, beating such successful formats as “The Voice of Italy”.
