Munich, 21 December 2009. The event miniseries Sisi has obtained impressive ratings at its premiere broadcast in Germany and Austria and won its time slot against Hollywood blockbusters like “Ice Age” and “James Bond”. The story of the legendary "Empress of Hearts," who enchanted all of Europe in the 19th century with her beauty and charisma, was seen on Germany's ZDF on 17 and 20 December by nearly five million viewers (market share of up to 15 percent); in Austria (ORF 2) the market share reached 28 percent (an average of nearly 700,000 viewers). Sisi was particularly successful in the young target group of 14 to 49 year olds, in which ZDF captured a nearly 12 percent share, twice as much as the broadcaster's average. The lead roles in the by Xaver Schwarzenberger directed two-parter are played by Cristiana Capotondi, David Rott and Martina Gedeck. Sisi is a production EOS Entertainment, Sunset Austria and Publispei in association with ZDF, ORF, RAI and Beta.
