Rex's success continues

Munich, 6 February 2008.  The new season of Rex, a cop’s best friend continues to gain popularity. The second broadcasts (Episodes 3 and 4) in Italy attracted 6.5 million viewers, which is a million more than last week's numbers. 24.6 percent of all viewers (last week: 20.5%) were watching the adventures of the German shepherd and his partner Inspector Lorenzo Fabbri on Italy's Rai Uno, thus ensuring a clear primetime victory for the broadcaster. Rex, a cop’s best friend is thus as popular as the most highly watched original Italian crime series. Never before has a foreign program enjoyed such success in Italy!
The 131 episodes of Rex, a cop’s best friend have been sold in over a hundred countries worldwide, which has made it the most successful German series of all times. The eight new episodes were shot in Vienna and Rome in 2007 for Rai and Austrian Broadcaster ORF. Another ten episodes, in addition to a 90 min. European-Football-Cup special in Vienna, are in the making.
