“Velvet” finishes its first season in Spain with a bang

Munich 27 May 2014. After jumping from one rating record to the next, Beta Film's Velvet soared up to 4.67 million viewers in its season finale, making Antena 3 the evening prime time winner with a 24% market share.The highly successful series, which kicked off with nearly 5 million viewers and a 24,6% market share at the pilot episode, held outstanding ratings throughout the entire season. Emotions went high again in the last episode, when Alberto walked up the aisle with Cristina, leaving Ana deeply hurt and confused.  The second season, currently under production, promisses more glamour, romance and drama as well as new challenges for the luxury department store with the introduction of prêt-a-porter in the 1960's.

Velvet - an empire built of silk, sensuality and seduction, starring Miguel Angel Silvestre, Paula Echevarría, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Natalia Millán and Pepe Sacristán, is directed by Carlos Sedes and David Pinillos and produced by Bambú Producciones for Atresmedia Televisión.
