Jan Kromschröder and Beta Film teaming up on Bantry Bay Productions

Munich, 11 July 2014. Former Managing Director of ITV Germany, Jan Kromschröder, and Beta Film Munich will be joint shareholders in the new production company Bantry Bay Productions GmbH & Co. KG. as of October 1, 2014. The company will develop and produce fictional programs starting operational activities within the coming months. Jan Kromschröder will become managing director in October and move the headquarters, currently in Oberhaching near Munich, to Cologne.

"I am really looking forward to the entrepreneurial challenge of starting off with a brand new production company. The year 2014 presents the perfect setting to give the changing market new impulses. Jan Mojto and the entire Beta team stand for sustained storytelling and high quality projects. I want all our future series productions to live up to these standards", says Jan Kromschröder.

Beta Film Managing Director Jan Mojto: "Jan Kromschröder is an acknowledged expert on fiction stories whose work is of the highest quality standards. I am therefore convinced that the Bantry Bay's productions will be ideally aligned to the broad global portfolio of Beta Film".

Jan Kromschröder (52) had been managing director of the production company ITV Studios Germany since 2008 and opened the company to successful fictional programs, including the series "The Last Cop", awarded with the German Television Award in 2012. After working as a producer for the Trebitsch Production Holding and head of movies and fiction at RTL and SAT.1, the qualified journalist produced various movies and series for ARD, ZDF, SAT. 1 and SWR from 2003 until 2008, as managing director of Kromschröder & Pfannenschmidt GmbH. Jan Kromschröder also lectures at the Film-University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam.

Bantry Bay as well as the previously founded Seapoint Productions are subsidiaries of Rosebank AG, in which Beta Film holds a stake. While Seaspoint Productions is responsible for the development and production of entertainment formats, Bantry Bay Productions will produce fictional programs. Both companies operate independently.

With a catalogue of over 15,000 hours of programs in all formats and genres, Beta Film is one of the world's leading distributors for TV, HV and new media as well for theatrical releases (Beta Cinema) and is active in national and international productions and co-productions. Beta Film, based in Oberhaching near Munich/Germany, has been part of Jan Mojto's company group since 2004.
