Andie MacDowell’s “Cedar Cove” travels to European key territories

Cannes, 7 October 2013. Andie MacDowell’s highly successful new series Cedar Cove travels to Europe. Beta Film sold the Hallmark series to Free TV broadcasters in the three European key territories Germany (Disney Channel), Italy (RAI) and Spain (Antena3). Cedar Cove (14xone hour), Andie MacDowell’s first TV series as a lead actress, scored exceptional ratings in the U.S. and just got the green light its second season.
The show has turned out to be one of the most succesful summer cable TV premieres in the entire United States. Its outstanding success has propelled Hallmark Channel to the top of the list, making it the number one rated cable network on Saturdays from 8 to 9 p.m. Cedar Cove also ranked number one in household delivery making Hallmark Channel the most watched cable network in the time period among total viewers (P2+).
The Hollywood icon Andie MacDowell (“Sex, Lies and Videotape,” “Short Cuts,” “Four Weddings  and a Funeral”) plays the charming judge Olivia Lockhart, who sees not only to law and order, but also to the emotional well-being of her fellow citizens. This is what also interests the good-looking editor of the local newspaper Jack Griffith (Dylan Neal, “Percy Jackson,” “Blood Ties”). The production is based on the bestselling novels of Debbie Macomber. Show-runner is Carl Binder (“Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”) for Orchard Road Production in coproduction with Front Street Pictures / Dan Wigutow and Unity and in association with Beta Film.
