Beta’s highlights shine during holiday season

Munich, 8 Jan 2013. Beta Film’s movies and miniseries have shined during the holiday season throughout Europe. The opulent family saga Hotel Adlon - A Family Saga (3x90’) reached an average of 8.4 million viewers (23.4 % market share) on its first two nights (Jan 6th/7th) on Germany’s ZDF and won the weekend against such prestigious formats such as Tatort and Navy CIS. Also the younger audience turned in, giving Hotel Adlon - A Family Saga an excellent market share of up to 18.3 percent in the target group 14-49 years. The family entertainment movie Little Lady Fauntleroy on ZDF also successfully competed against Tatort with a strong 6 million viewers (16.3 percent market share) and very good results among younger viewers. Even more successful was the heartwarming Piccola Lady on Italy’s RAI with a primetime-winning market share of 21 percent and 4.7 million viewers. The Charlotte Link bestseller adaptation The Other Child won its two nights with up to 5.6 million viewers on Germany’s ARD. Also unbeatable on ARD was the lavish teamWorx-mini Baron Muenchhausen, which scored best both Christmas afternoons with 2.6 million viewers, leaving Downton Abbey, Ghostbusters, Kung Fu Panda and Harry Potter far behind. The Hallmark movie Lucky Christmas won the Italian access prime time with a 14.5 percent market share on RAI. In France, the action-adventure movie Bermuda Triangle North Sealit reached almost a million viewers on the digital channel NT1 with a strong market share of 3.4 percent.
