Beta Cinema titles with seven German Film Awards

Munich, 11 April 2011. Beta Cinema’s titles have been honoured with seven German Film awards (“Lola”) at this year’s ceremony in Berlin, among them “Best Feature Film”, “Best Script” and “Best Actor”. Ralf Huettner’s Vincent Wants to Sea picked up the Golden Lola for “Best Feature Film”, its writer and lead actor Florian David Fitz was honoured with the Lola as “Best Actor”. The Silver Lola “Best Feature Film” went to Almanya, directed by Yasemin Samdereli, who, together with her sister Nasrin, snatched also the German Film award for “Best Screenplay”. Beatriz Spelzini received the Lola for “Best Supporting Actress” in The Day I Was Not Born by Florian Cossen, which won also a Lola for the “Best Music Score” (by Matthias Klein). Philipp Stoelzl’s Goethe! was recognized for its remarkable make-up department (Kitty Kratschke, Heike Merker).
