"Sisi" scores outstanding ratings in Spain and Italy

Munich, 26 April 2010. The event miniseries Sisi has scored exceptional ratings in Spain and Italy. Starring Cristiana Capotondi, Martina Gedeck and David Rott, the lavish two-parter about the life of Austrian Empress Elisabeth reached on Spain’s Telecinco on Sunday afternoon, April 25th, 2.2 million viewers and an impregnable market share of 18,6 percent, which is a 60 percent increase of Telecinco’s average ratings on this slot. On Italy’s RAI Uno Sisi won the primetime twice with 7.3 (part 1) and 7.7 (part 2) million viewers, garnering an average market share of 27 percent (broadcast 28 Feb. and 1 March). Sisi shot past hit U.S. productions such as "N.C.I.S." and the blockbuster "Independence Day" as well as the extremely successful Italian version of "Big Brother" on Canal 5. The new film adaptation already captivated German and Austrian viewers and achieved impressive ratings at its airing there in December 2009. Sisi is a production of EOS Entertainment, Sunset Austria and Publispei in association with ZDF, ORF, RAI and Beta.
