Munich, 15 June 2010. The documentary drama THE MIRACLE OF LEIPZIG has been honoured as Best Documentary at the World Television Festival in Banff/Canada. The two hour production about the fall of the East German regime 1989, which is distributed worldwide by Beta Film’s Autentic, won the award in the section History/Biography. THE MIRACLE OF LEIPZIG follows the course of events in fall 1989 when thousands of East German citizens took to the streets and demonstrated against all odds for greater freedom, more rights and democracy. The documentary from director Sebastian Dehnhardt was produced by Broadview TV in co-operation with MDR and ARTE.
