Beta Film acquires film catalogues of Porchlight and Zeta

Munich, 29 July 2010. Beta Film has acquired international film catalogues of the U.S. producer and distributor Porchlight and Spain's On Pictures/Zeta Group, and is offering the rights to nearly 70, mostly American, films for the first time at the forthcoming TV trade fair MIPCOM in Cannes. Beta Film will be distributing the worldwide rights to 43 Porchlight "Made for TV" movies, many of which have been successfully aired on U.S. networks. Beta also acquired the rights to 22 theatrical films of On Pictures/Zeta, including "The Reader" and "Paranormal Activity", for the territory of Spain.
The Porchlight catalogue comprises TV movies with U.S. stars such as Lauren Holly ("NCIS," "Dumb & Dumber"), Ian Somerhalder ("The Vampire Diaries," "Lost"), Nicolette Sheridan ("Desperate Housewives") and Tori Spelling ("Smallville," "Beverly Hills 90210") as well as productions such as "Best Friends" (primetime program on U.S. broadcaster Lifetime), "Deadly Season" (Hallmark Channel), "Role of a Lifetime" (NBC) and the family program "Stardust" (HBO). The Zeta titles also include "Gamer," "Hotel Ruanda" and "Open Water 2." An option for the Spanish rights was acquired for John Cusack’s "Shanghai."
