"Storm Tide!" huge success in Germany

Munich, February 22nd  2006. The two-part action film Storm Tide! broadcast for the first time in Germany on the private channel RTL has beaten all records. The teamWorx and EOS Entertainment production has become both with the target group of 14-49 (on average 6.3 million viewers) and with the audience in general (11.4 million viewers) the most successful German two-parter of all times. Almost one in three TV-viewers watched on February 19th and 20th at primetime the dramatic events of the storm tide night in Hamburg; for the target group the market share even reached up to 39,2 per cent.
Also the sales ratings of Storm Tide! reach record values. Already before its completion the action movie (2x90') had been sold by Beta Film in around 40 countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Japan and Latin America. Beta Film counts on numerous further sales being made at the oncoming TV trade fair Mip TV 2006 in Cannes.
Storm Tide! combines in a moving and thrilling way the fate of two families with the dramatic events of the flood disaster in Hamburg. The story begins in the evening before the wedding of Katja (Nadja Uhl, “Soundless?) and Markus (Jan Josef Liefers, “A Light in Dark Places?) with a surprising visit of Katja’s former boyfriend Jürgen (Benno Fürmann, leading role in Oscar nominated “Merry Christmas?) who disappeared from her life years ago. That evening big parts of the town are flooded by the tide of the Elbe and suddenly for everybody the only thing that counts is to survive. With a budget of nine million Euro Storm Tide! belongs to the most expensive German TV-productions.
